NathanW9
I brewed the old spiced dark ale receipe to the book and have found after 4wks it's got great flavour but a little weak (watery) in body and mouth feel. As im new to this (only done 6 brews)and i correct in saying when a brew comes out a little thin in body and mouth feel more malt is needed to thicken if that's the right word?? Am finding with most brews the local brew shop i go to makes there own (brew enhancers) with the above ingredients and amounts which provides a good balance overall for most brews. With those ingredients and amounts, would i be correct in saying it would create a brew around the 4 - 4.5% ABV at 23lt??
Guest
Have you thought about adding some grains? The move away from "Brew Enhancers" to all malt (and limiting any dex/sugar to 300g MAX) + the addition af a few hundred grams of Specialty Malts (Crysat Malt / Carapils / Wheat Malt) will do wonders to liven up your brews. Hairy
+1 to what Yob said. Also, those ingredients in 23 litres would give you around 4-4.5% ABV.
