jasond4 Posted January 1, 2012 Share Posted January 1, 2012 For a simple way to brew the Dark Ale use the BE2 and 400 gms of dark brown sugar. The sugar give a nice port-like alcohol taste/kick to it. Its s simple and easy way to put a slight twist to the kit. The sugar is also good in the stout,IMO. Dark ale can 1kg dark malt extract 250g dex Windsor or nottingham yeast (good English yeast) East Kent goldings and fuggles hops @ about 0.7g per litre of each type Well thats my take on it, i would also add spec grains but thats just how i roll with kits.
