RoaldV
I bought some hops around 10 days ago(came in vacume sealed bags). I looked at the bags and it didn't say anywhere that they needed to be frozen before opening. However, now I'm wondering whether or not I should have put them in the freezer for storage? Or do they keep if they are un-opened?
Hairy
Keep the hops in the fridge and leave them un-opened until you need to use them. The left overs can be stored in the freezer. But if you are going to use the leftovers fairly quickly (say in your nnext batch) then there are no problems keeping them in the fridge. The freezer will just increase the amount of time you can store them.

Guest
Yeast = fridge hops = Freezer unless you are going to use them soon.
RoaldV
Going to use it on Saturday. Should it go in the freezer?
Hairy
The fridge is fine. They sit in a fridge in the home brew shop (hopefully) so a few days in your fridge won't hurt.
LeonardC2
My LHBS has an external temp control on the fridge that keeps it a few degrees above freezing for the hop packets. I put mine in zip lock freezer bags in the top of the freezer. That way, they stay fresh a long time,& the defrost cycle won't have anything dripping on them. Yeast & cans of LME go in the fridge. I use the little butter cubby on the fridge door for yeast packets.
