Hydrometer

Hi BjarkeH, welcome to the forum

So your first reading was 1034 (that's about right for the kit Lager)

Was the 1009 reading taken on the second day?.. and the 1003 on the third day?

I guess it could ferment quite quickly at a higher temp.

A simple check for your Hydrometer is to test it in 20 deg C water and you should get a reading of 1000

What temp were you pitching then fermenting at?

Cheers

hi now i forgot one the first day SG was 1014 and then 1009 and now 1003 the temp is around 24

If this is this kit Lager that you get with Coopers DIY kit then its too low. It should start at roughly 1035 OG first day and the first 3 days are the most active. I would guess day 3 should be about 1015 SG and day 7 should be around 1008-1010 FG

Are you using the Lager can and BE1 sugar that came with the kit?

If so......

Do a hydrometer test!

Cheers

If you have a faulty hydrometer in your DIY Beer kit' date=' you only need to contact customerservice@coopers.com.au and we will organise a replacement at no cost to you. [biggrin']

I have a faulty one... well for the first few brews I did with it but since I fixed my problem it seems to be ok now. Can I get a new one too [innocent]
