Fermentation process in the dark?

Hello all,

I'm about to start my second brew and want to move the fermentation tank to my kitchen where its warmer and holds a steady temperature. Does the first fermentation need to be done in the dark or with very little light? The new area has no direct sunlight obviously but my kitchen has windows and light does come in.

Thanks,

Rob

Cover it with a dark colored towel,or an old jacket to keep the light out of it. Otherwise,it could get skunked. I use an old, fleece lined CPO to cover mine. Helps keep ambient air temp fluctuations off it as well. It made it way easier to keep mine at 20C during it's stay in primary.
