MitchBastard
What day should I start bumping up the temp for my Pilsner? Noticeable fermentation as of this morning.....So does that make this morning the start of day 1? Ps is 34/70 the slowest starting yeast in history? Otto Von Blotto
The start of day 1 is when the yeast was pitched. Don't worry about days as such, just take an SG sample 5 days after pitching yeast. If it's 1.020 or lower, let the temp rise, if it's over give it more time. If it's lower than 1.025, wait about 12 hours, if it's over 1.025 give it a full day then let it rise. Otto Von Blotto
No worries. By the way I think 2278 might hold the slowest starting record. One of mine took nearly 3 days to show any visible signs but it still fermented out in 10 days like all the others. Go figure.
