The Brew Master
Hi Ron, I make Australian Pale Ale and add 250g of BE2. When this ferments out it comes in at about 2.9%. This weekend I am going to put one down with LDM only. Hope this helps Ron, Cheers Peter
Peter in the ACT
Ron, During the summer I make a Pale Ale with 1/2 kg of BE2. That comes out about mid strength and relatively full flavoured. The side of the BE2 box will give an approx % of alc. Cheers Peter
PB2
Drop the BE1 and use just 500g of Light Dry Malt.
Ron L
Thank you very much that means no sugar just the 500g ligt dry malt sorry to be a pain but still trying to get the hang of all these different ways of brewing not like when i first started when it had the bag of wort Cheers RonL
PB2
That correct! A can of Real Ale + 500g of LDME and nothing else. Of course, you will need priming sugar
Ron L
Thank you very much, stiil not sure what this light malt does but as long as it works is all that matters. Cheers Ron L
THIRSTY MATT
hi ron, in nonexpert terms.....light dry malt will make your beer less watery and a little more malty. it will give it a better head too! ........as opposed to using dextrose. the dextrose COMPLETELY FERMENTS OUT N BECOMES ALCOHOL! the sugars that make up light dry malt are more COMPLEX and DO NOT FERMENT OUT COMPLETELY...therefore your beer has MORE BODY,,,,MORE GUTS,,,,MORE THICKNESS ,,MORE BALLS ,,,LOL,,,,MORE FLAVOUR! if you just dropped to 500grams of BE1 or DEXTROSE,,,ya beer would be a lil watery,,,,a lil lame! hope this helps mate!!! cheers matt
