THIRSTY MATT Posted March 26, 2009 Share Posted March 26, 2009 hi all, serial pest starting a new topic!!! i just dug up some old "amarillo pale ale" that i made about 21 months ago! the coopers plastics had lost their gas. the coopers glass commercial long necks (pry off style bottles) held their gas beautifully!! dont under estimate a good "coopers pry off tally"!!! cheers matt p.s. i think 36grams of amarillo was a lil much!? taste more like the whole of texas is in there! PB2 Posted March 26, 2009 Share Posted March 26, 2009 Yes, PETs are an excellent bottle for convenience, etc. I normally use them as take-aways if I have any beer left over after dropping it to keg. But for a brew that is intended to be aged - like a RIS or Belgian ale - use sturdy glass. We tell people, "If you want to keep the beer in bottle for more than 18mths, use glass."
