NathanB7
There is a brewery by where I live, that makes a great Oatmeal Stout. Not much of an aftertaste, and it is very dark. How would someone go about adding Oatmeal into a Stout recipe? Thanks.
Guest
Hey nathan i have just spent ages trying to find you a link to answer that question as it has already been covered on here by someone else asking the same questions. Due to the crappy search functions on this site i was unable to find it and have no idea myself to be honest. I remember mentions of steeping and mashing but cant remember what the end result was. Im sure more experienced brewers will get on later and and help if are able to or even PB2. I was thinking of experementing like this but didnt bother as not really a stout drinker would be pointless and my 1 mate who is always keen to try my home brew only seems to like the simple unhopped ones so more for me these days as thats all i make now full of hops and specialty grain[biggrin]

AdamH1525226084
Haha, I knew I'd read something on this and that I'd put in the memory bank. [biggrin] Here you will find a recipe from NewtownClown using Aldi oats. I even tried putting "Breakfast" in the search but there are no results hmmmm. You're welcome [wink]
Guest
Oats need to be mashed with grain. If you are only a noob to home brewing then I suggest to do a few basic brews first to get the basics down pat.
