LesM2
Im not too sure what I would get with this recipe but I think its worth a go only one way to find out. I think this would produce a pale but very malty and sligtly high ABV %. Any thoughts would be great. 1.7kg Pale Ale Can 1 kg BE2 0.5kg LDM
Hairy
Looks good Les. I would throw some hops in too. Cascade and Amarillo would be nice. Maybe a short boil of the hops too to increase the bitterness a little.
LesM2
Gday Hairy That's a great idea with the hops. Maybe a 10min boil, strain & add to the wort. Might give that a go. Thanks for the tip. Cheers
Pistnbroke
Sounds good les. Hop additions work really well with this kit, adds a whole new dimension to the taste and aroma. First pale ale kit I did was a cascade/nelson sauvin combo, this combination of hops also works very well together.
LesM2
Yeah I agree some hops would be a great addition. I did the pale ale kit a few weeks back and it lacked taste. So yes some hops would make pale ale a better beer. I was thinking 12g cascade & 12g fuggles.
Trusty1
you're half way there if adding hops, I'd try it with a 1.5L can of wheat malt (with this batch or in the future). Like Hairy suggests, I'd use Amarillo or even Nelson Sauvin. And the recultured Coopers Pale ale yeast only improves it!
