WilliamS
Hi can anyone help me out with making a peach flavoured beer similar to Timmermans Peche its an awesome drop and I'd love to try and make a batch. I have researched a little and found that the beer and wine peach flavouring doesn't work too well can I drop peaches in the wort?
PB2
You need to ensure the peaches are pasteurised first (simply by dropping the peaches into a pan with a dash of water and bringing up to just short of boiling). Also, make the choice before-hand whether to puree and mix through the brew (with the hope that the solids drop out of suspension) or enclose the peaches in a mesh bag. From memory, Paul Mercurio made a peach ale under the brand Merc's Own. Mind you, I haven't tasted it...

PB2
might sound obvious but I forgot to mention, "the peaches should be sliced first"
Muddy Waters
Don't forget to sing to your beer to keep the yeast happy: "Movin' to the country gonna eat a lot of peaches I'm movin' to the country I'm gonna eat me a lot of peaches I'm movin' to the country I'm gonna eat a lot of peaches Movin' to the country I'm gonna eat a lot of peaches Peaches come from a can they were put there by a man In a factory downtown If I had my little way I'd eat peaches everyday Sun soakin bulges in the shade Movin' to the country I'm gonna eat a lot of peaches Movin' to the country I'm gonna eat a lot of peaches I'm movin to the country gonna eat a lot of peaches Movin' to the country gonna eat a lot of peaches Etc, etc" Cheers, Muddy
WilliamS
Hehe, Yeah funny you should mention that I have a meditation CD I've been playing for my brew while I'm away from it, and are you sure that singing about eating peaches isn't going to freak them out? Muddy Waters
Peaches aren't easily freaked. Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind. Personally, I play the Chicken Tonight jingle (#I feel like Chicken Tonight....Chicken Tonight#) on a loop in my chicken coop and I am amazed at how many eggs I am getting. WilliamS
Hahahaha, that's so funny you should say that! I sing "I feel like chicken tonight" to my chickens and they follow me around everywhere, a couple of them are double layers too!
