Scottie
[crying] The Two Metre Tall boutique brewery in the Derwent Valley grow all their ingredients on site including their hops. Like much of South Eastern Australia the Derwent Valley is experiencing hot, dry and windy weather. Apart from the obvious risks of fire, the Two Metre Tall company have lost almost 75% of their hop crop as the hot winds cause the hops to age by baking them. I know that Bushy Park estates have many Poplar trees in place as wind breaks to protect the hops, not sure about Ringwood but it looks like NZ and US hops will be in huge demand next year.
