Jimmy
I just put down a 23 l batch with some leftover grains added to the Real Ale kit, and, long story short, the OG ended up being 1.032, which is a little lower than I expected. Could someone calculate for me what the OG would be if I chucked 200 grams of dextrose into the FV? As you can probably tell from my starting this thread, I'm absolutely no good with brewing math. [pinched] Thanks in advance!
DamianM2
If you put another 200 gms of dex in the fermentor on top of what you already have the OG would have been 1036. Maybe the ingredients weren't mixed through completely? I never worry about measuring OG. There are calculators on the internet that are easy to use. I just calculate my expected OG and FG and when I think it's finished I measure to make sure I've hit my FG.I am pretty sure I never mix things completely so my measured OG would never be 100% correct.
