MarkA18
Hi all, this is happily bubbling away right now, and will be ready for dry hopping in a few days. I'm hoping to get opinions of how many hops to add for dry hopping. First, here's the recipe: Thomas Cooper Select draught can 1.7kg 1.5kg Coopers Liquid Wheat Malt Extract 300g dextrose US-05 yeast In a couple of litres of water we boiled some hops (this was maybe a bit timid, but really didn't want to increase bitterness, only aroma/flavour): 10g cascade (6.2% AA) whole flowers @ 8 min 5g galaxy (11.1% AA) whole flowers @ 8 min 20g cascade @ 0 min 10g galaxy @ 0 min I was thinking of dry hopping (in a hop bag) with 20g cascade and 10g galaxy. Will this be good? Thanks! Mark
Hairy
That amount for dry hopping would be good. You could probably push the the galaxy to 15-20g if you really like that hop but if you overdo the galaxy it will take a while to settle down. Give it a go and let us know how it goes. I know you said you didn't want to increase the bitterness but a 20 minute boil of some cascade would have been perfect.
MarkA18
Thanks Hairy. I guess it's all experimentation - we'll just have to make it again with a 20 min boil of cascade :) How much would you suggest @ 20 min, based on the above recipe? I would probably add 15-20g (pellets) @ 20 min.
