MarcS5
I've sort of inherited a Coopers brew kit from a mate who's moved overseas. There's a whole bunch of gear but a couple of things have me confused. I've got what I believe is a senior airlock, and a bubbler airlock. Is there a difference? Is one better for a different type of beer?
Guest
If they are both airlocks i dont think it would matter. Many people on here may tell you to toss the airlock and lid all together and use clingwrap over top but i still use mine seems to do the job im sort of attached to the bubbling sound. GregT5
You can't hear an airlock in my brew fridge. [cool] I chucked mine & used gladwrap with the rubber ring that used to seal the lid. I have just upgraded to the new DIY kits (got a $55 cheapie from Kmart). My old fermenter has become my bulk priming container. My advice would be to give them both a miss & use gladwrap. Guest
A senior airlock is a lot older than a bubby airlock and the best airlock is the one sitting in the bin! My advice would be to give them both a miss & use gladwrap. +
LordEoin
I like airlocks the sound is soothing. Just don't trust them and make sure they don't get blocked.
GrahamB8
All my airlock issues are down to the lid. Not sure I would use the glad wrap method with my old Lambic friend, Im quite sure he finished burping over a year ago now, though the thick layer of white mold would probably stop anything getting in
