RyanP4
Just went through the FAQ and couldn't find anything on filtering so I think it's safe to post about it.. I didn't use a filtersock or stocking for my hops, they went directly into the fermenter, now when I bottle or rack to a secondary, I am worried that I'll be taking all the hops with it. Anyone have any home filtration methods? Or is forking out the 200 bucks for a filtration line and filter the only go? Cheers, Jax
Otto Von Blotto
I dry hopped a brew a couple of months ago, I did use a bag but some of the hop matter still escaped from it into the brew itself. I think it should just settle after a while into the trub at the bottom. It's probably not much to worry about. I noticed when I bottled mine, I got hop matter in the first 4 or 5 stubbies but after that nothing. When I went to drink them there was no sign of it at all so I'm guessing it got buried underneath the sediment in the bottles. GrahamB8
i dry hop loose straight into the FV it settles with the trub I do put a plastic bottle cap under the FV where the tap is to encourage the trub to settle away from the tap
