Tremond_moreland
Hi guys  Finally made myself Coopers Devil Brew Porterhttps://www.diybeer.com/au/recipe/devil-s-brew-porter.html . Problem is it isn't carbonating after a week of being bottled. Just wondering what could be causing this, and the best way to get some bubbles.  Possible causes : To get to a stable FG reading, it was in the fermenter for 18 days. Then when I bottled I added just over half the sugar I normally do, due to wanting less bubbles. Also, I am in cold 'ol Canberra, so the bottled beers are in a cupboard at around 15 degrees. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance At 15c it's going to take at least 4 weeks you need to find a way to get the temp up to above 18c around 19c us ideal
Tremond_moreland
Cheers 15 minutes ago, John304 said: It may take longer at 15deg, also you said you used half the sugar than normal, anyway you can move them somewhere warmer Cheers. I will place them in a warmer position. It's just strange that the Cali Coast IPA https://www.diybeer.com/au/recipe/cali-coast-ipa.html I bottled 5 days earlier is almost ready to drink and they are both in the same cupboard. But you mentioned the priming sugar too, do you think this could be a problem? I did add a carbonation drop to one last night, so curious to see what that does.

That is for a PET 740ml or a glass longneck 750ml. For a 375ml stubby use a bit less or better still get a measuring scoop available at home brew stores or online. I used to keep the bottles in a box & cover with a blanket & have a thermometer handy to check the temperature.
Tremond_moreland
Worked out a mug of dextrose dissolved on the stove is perfect. Dad suggested a little less sugar so the Porter is not so bubbly, but might have went too little. Thanks for the tips. Great idea with the blanket too
