whats the difference between using Coopers brew enhancer 1 or a bag of dextrose ?

The coopers "lager" (it's not a real lager) extract is actually pretty low on the bitterness scale (ibu). I've found it more astringent tasting. In my opinion, it is the worst of the Coopers extract cans, and therefore a poor introduction to include in the basic starter kit.

Take that as a positive note; things can only get better.
