Dark and Stormy
Can anybody tell me what the temperature tolerance of the coopers 13L plastic fermenter is? Is it safe to put 50C wort into the plastic fermenter and chiiling to fermentation temp in fridge? Smithy
Kegory
Good question. The krausen collar is dishwasher safe and is made of the same material as the fermenter. AFAIK dishwashers reach more than 50C so, therefore, I would assume that it is safe to pour 50C wort into it.

Typically brews 8.5-9 litre batches, but probably holds 13 litres filled to the brim. I pour boiling water into mine to help dissolve dry ingredients. Never had an issue. I believe the type of plastic is very heat resistant.
