Ade1525228620 Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Followed the recipe as per the kit with BE1. Temp controlled at 25 for 6 days in keg. Then at 25 for 7 days in a heat box. Good colour and head but the beer is way too light on taste and I suspect on alcohol too. Any ideas? This is not normally my sort of brew - prefer lager/pils/stout - but was helping out a mate. Won't do the cerveza again unless we can work out how to give it a bit more bite. Any ideas?
Muddy Waters Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 I'd brew it (or any ales) at 18-20C if I was you Ade. 25C is too hot, especially if you have temp control. The cerveza is similar to a corona so it is never going to taste amazing. I had a few goes at tweaking it but was never that impressed - but I'm not really a corona fan (too boring).
Guest Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 As Muddy said ~25C is just too hot. You will get a better beer at around 18-20C
