AndrewJ14
Can anyone tell me why it has different yeasts than the ones under the can for certain clone recipies? Such as a Steinlager clone requires a lager prehopped can and converter NZ #50 plus saflager s-23 yeast. Whats the dif from the yeast under the can lid. Will it turn out the same and have the same taste?
Matty A
If you are talking about the Coopers lager can, it comes with ale yeast instead of lager yeast. Each strain of yeast have differant characteristics that will change the taste, mouthfeel etc. I am not sure on the characteristics of each yeast but from what I have head the differance is very noticable. Muddy Waters
Different yeast will make a huge difference to the flavour profile of a beer. If you go to a home brew website (Such as CRAFTBREWER) they will generally have a brief description of the yeasts characteristics. Have a read through some of them to get an idea what the yeast imparts.
