JohnnieT
Hi guys, working on our first batch of Australian Pale Ale. Today is 1 week in the fermenter. Checked a sample yesterday and was reading 1.016 today it is reading the same. Temp is 20c and has been very constant. Is it ready to bottle or should I give it more time? I read posts and in the manual stating it should read between 1010 and 1008.
johng12
HI there, 1016 seems a bit high especially if you followed the recipe on the can. I'd be giving a few more days and wait for hit to at least hit 1010. Then being constant over a number of days. Personally after that i would leave it in the fermentor for another 4-7 days to help clear the beer. I understand being your first brew you want it in the bottle, have to let the process complete. Muddy Waters
Welcome to the forum Johnnie [biggrin] I agree with John & Peter. Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.
