Muddy Waters
I've used it many times. Along with US-05 dry yeast it is my favourtite everyday yeast. I can't tell any differnece between it and US-05 so I tend to use US-05 for convenience most times. But if you make a starter and split the WLP001 into 5 or 6 you can get better value for money (I don't bother splitting dry yeast - I'm cheap but not that cheap [biggrin] ). johng12
Yeah was thinking about making a starter alright. Hopefully i see or taste a difference in the final beer. At $15 a vial i can see why you would split it.
PB2
When fermented at the lower end of recommended temp' range it throws very few fermentation characters, which tends to help emphasise the hop characters. At Frothies Brewery, it's the second most used yeast behind the commercial Coopers culture.[biggrin]
