ChristianN
I have a cider kit. The julian on the yeast is 34008 - being december 6 2008. Is this still in date to use? Ultimately I imagine the only real way to test it is to make a starter with it and see. But - any guidance?
PB2
Coopers Brewery does not produce cider kits. However, if the yeast sachet has Coopers branding, it was packaged on the 340th day of 2008 - too old for my liking and it does not belong with a cider kit[alien]
Matty A
I would say that the yeast are past their use by date. Although why not make a starter and see how they go. If they go well their I can't see any reason as to why they wouldn't do the job. I am not sure if it would change the flavor or anything tho. ChristianN
Not a coopers kit. Another brand - thought I'd give cider a burl to see how the femme's like it. Never had any trouble with coopers yeasts
PB2
You will have trouble with any dry yeast that is beyond its best...
