DutchJT Posted November 1, 2010 Share Posted November 1, 2010 G'day all I have made five toucan stouts too date the first four with an OG.of 1060. The last read only 1050 (2 readings}. Matty A Posted November 1, 2010 Share Posted November 1, 2010 Someone more experienced may need to back me up but to me it sounds like all of the fermentables haven't been mixed in correctly. I assume it will finally fix itself as the fermentables disolve. The above is assuming you used the same amount and type of sugars and malts. PB2 Posted November 1, 2010 Share Posted November 1, 2010 If you are confident that you have mixed the brew properly when measuring it at 1050, this is more likely to be the most accurate reading.
