StenK
Hey guys, I need to know if I should bottle now or leave it for a while longer to get the FG to what I want (1008)at least... It's been pretty hot here lately appox temp 26C where keg is... I put down my brew on Friday and checked it yesterday and today and the gravity states 1010. Standard draught plus 1kg Coopers Brewing sugar Should I leave it till the gravity states 1008-1006 or should I bottle now? I dont want it to go off. the air lock started after 24 hours and went mad for about the same time. Currently no activity on the airlock so I'm wondering if its finished fermenting out? If you can help a newbie please reply.. Cheers,
Squishy
If your hydrometer reading is stable I'd bottle it...... depending on the temp you hydrometer might be a little out as well
Martyn
If your hydrometer reading is stable I'd bottle it. Quote-unquote. If its stable over 2 consecutive days (but to quote the master![cool] [biggrin] ) You'll be fine to bottle. Welcome to the wonderful world of homebrewing, StenK. It's great. Squishy, have you been at your new kegs, again?[biggrin] Cheers, Martyn.
Muddy Waters
Yeah what they said. Having said that it has only been going for a few days so it couldn't hurt to leave it a few days longer to let it clear up a bit. I usually give my beers 1 week to ferment and then leave them an extra week to clear up - Works for me [biggrin]
