c9103
Apologies if this topic has been already addressed, but I'm keen to brew an apricot ale. I'm sure apricot jam can be used in the mix but I'm unsure of quantities and would rather not have to wipe apricot brewing mix off the walls of my shed. Does anyone have any thoughts/suggestions? PB2
I haven't seen apricot as a suggested fruit for beer but I have used a liquid yeast that had a very strong stewed apricot aroma. There is a thread on this forum about using Blackberry or Raspberry jam (as much as two jars) with stout. Of course, stout is a very strrong flavour in the first case. Why not try using the Pale Ale Home Brew or Wheat Beer with 500g of Light Dry Malt, a jar of apricot jam made up to 20litres?? Make sure FG is reached before bottling and let us know how it goes.
