Evilian Posted February 21, 2007 Share Posted February 21, 2007 I just opened another one of my Lagers and it apears to be a dud there was no fizz and it appeared to be darker in colour than the others also it didnt smell quite right (i think). Im thinking maybe when iput the lid on, im only using the plasic bottles at the moment, that maybe it didnt seal properly or maybe i didnt quite clean that particular bottle the best so far its been the only one that hasnt seemed to work and even though im not really worried about it would be nice to see if i got the right idea as to why it occured so i can prevent it next time. PB2 Posted February 21, 2007 Share Posted February 21, 2007 One wouldn't expect bottles from the same batch to have a noticeably different colour. Perhaps it was exposed to high temps for extended time or it has oxidised (due to a poor seal)?? You might like to check that each cap has the plastic wadding inside and give the bottle a good squeeze after securing the cap to ensure no gas can leak out. Evilian Posted February 22, 2007 Author Share Posted February 22, 2007 Thanks for that i got a feeling i may not have screwed the cap down properly or even something as stupid as forgetting to add the carbonation drops but its only been 1 bottle out of about 25 or something like that.
