Sunny Coast Brewer Posted December 29, 2006 Share Posted December 29, 2006 No, I'm not desperate for a drinking partner... :lol: I'm wondering if anyone has looked into the pros & cons of the Sunbeam Beer Mate. It claims to have a 6 litre "tank" for filling with home brew or you can use the bought 5 litre mini kegs. I'm wondering about the fizz of the beer. It doesn't appear to have any gas line. It seems to rely on the fizziness already in the beer. Would 6 litres of beer stay fizzy for long? If anyone has one or has looked into it, let us all know. Happy New Year! PB2 Posted January 1, 2007 Share Posted January 1, 2007 It uses an air pump to push the beer out - although it does have an adapter for the Heineken kegs (I think they contain there own gas supply). Oxidisation and degassing are the two main problems when pumping air into a keg. For the beer to be at its best, the contents of the keg should be consumed within a few hours.
