Big Mal
G'day Paul, I spotted a recipe of yours which read: 1x can Dark Ale 1x can Aus pale ale mix to 23 ltrs use both yeast satchels Sound like a good brew but I was wondering, Do you use sugar of any kind or treat the pale as a super concentrate? I'm looking forward to putting this one down. Cheers, Mal
PB2
You can use sugar if you like to achieve more attenuation and higher alcohol but the two yeast sachets will be sufficient to ferment the brew without the need for sugar.
Andy New Brewer
Have a question regarding this brew. So it is not required to use any sugar,is this correct ??? Also what is the verdict on this brew it sounds like a bit of a ripper. Also before i go when priming the bottles using carbo drops is it just one per stubbie as per usual. Cheers Andy
PB2
The extra fermentable sugars are supplied by the can of Pale Ale. I think you will enjoy this beer, particularly if you like your dark ales! It is important to ensure that Final Gravity is achieved prior to bottling - 2 SG readings the same over 2 clear days. The amount of priming sugar (carbo drops) contributes to the amount of CO2 in the beer. One drop per 375ml bottle is suffice.

Ben Mc
Not long sampled my 1st bottle from this same brew. A very nice Dark Ale easy to make and very easy drinking should taste even better with age. Cheers Paul for the recipe!!
