Dalgie
How long do you think the seals on the pet bottle caps are good for? Apart from the odd one splitting I have used the original ones for a fair time but am wondering if after a while they would develop a slight airleak during fermentation. Would be interested in what other brewers think. Dalgie
PB2
If you only tighten the caps sufficiently to hold pressure (avoid deforming or stressing the caps) they should last for numerous brews. I must say though, we haven't tested them to see just how many times they will last??
Big Mal
G'day Guys, I've been using the same caps for roughly 2.5 years. I've found as they wear you have to screw them down harder and harder. It's usually time to replace them when you crack the bottle and hear very little fizz, the beer decants as normal but loses the head very quickly. Hope this helps as the reply was a long time comming. Cheers, Mal 8)
