Cold Conditioning

Hey there again guys, I have never cold conditioned my lagers. Can somebody inform me how I might cold condition? Can you do it after bottling and at what stage and for how long do you do it???

 

Any help help would be great.

If you are using Bavarian Lager or Brewmaster Pilsener it doesn't hurt to throw the kit yeast in as well as the SAF Lager yeast. Also, hydrate the yeast prior to pitching.

 

 

 

If you use priming sugar and naturally condition the brew don't worry about lagering. The remaining yeast will clean up the brew nicely. If you force carbonate (normally when kegging) then you wil find the brew benefits from lagering (rack the brew to a sanitised container and store at around 1degC for a week or two).
