No idea how i would go about it i have read some stuff about kit vrs no kit. the main thing i am having trouble with is how to get the sweetness and the full fruit flavor that this cider offers. If you are a cider drinker and you haven't tried this stuff its worth going to Dan's or First choice and giving one of the four verities a go. StewartS2 Posted March 20, 2011 Share Posted March 20, 2011 I tried the pear cider at xmas time and it didn't taste much like cider to me. To get that much sweetness you have two options: 1. Use about 1kg of lactose which will not ferment out and keep the cider sweet 2. It tasted alot like sprite to me so try mixing in a glass half normal cider and half lemonade? McFrankel Posted March 20, 2011 Share Posted March 20, 2011 I made one in the lead up to Xmas and used half a kg of lactose and a 50 mil bottle of pear scnapps essence.
