PABLO C
Hi everyone, I am a new member and I want to know if someone has tried to emulate Bud beer(american, not czech)or any blond beer with its particular sweet end-flavour. As it has rice on the recipe, and asian beers adding rice, result in sweet beers, should it be this the point?
Slurtis Staggersalot
I thought the Green top Lager from the original series tasted pretty Bud like. I'm not really a fan of Bud, but my uncle loves the stuff and he drank up that batch of lager in about a week [lol] It's not a perfect match by any means but probably a good can to use as a base for your bud emulation. PB2
Pablo, have you tried the Mexican Cerveza? It is low in bitterness (like Bud) and if fermented with BE2, has similar residual carbohydrate levels to Bud.
PABLO C
I haven't tried the mexican, but if it's inspired in the known mexican brands(coron) maybe it is going to be too weak to compare to the north-american one. Should it be compensated only with the 1/4 kg light malt in the BE2? How about a little more malt extract? will it give beer more head and not increase bitternes I hope, for low bitterness is important for me in this case,so I think green top lager could result too bitter for the experiment, but I share your uncle's taste and beer-thirst Slurtis [biggrin] .
