Archer
Hey all, I've heard decent things about a Coopers recipe called Buxom Blonde but can't seem to find the recipe. Anyone have or remember it? what did it come out like (if you've made it) in comparison to the standard Canadian + BE1? cheers
PB2
The recipe was in a mail-out about 7 years ago. It went something like this: 1.7kg Canadian Blonde beer kit 1kg Coopers Brewing Sugar 500g Coopers Light Dry Malt 12g Golding hops, boiled in a small saucepan for 5 mins then added to the fermenter. Made to 23 litres and use yeast supplied with the kit. For me, it has a bit more complexity and more pleasant aroma than the straight CB + BE1 recipe. Martyn
Have had this sat in FV since Friday Nov 12th. SG was 1050 and current reading is 1008 with a temp range of 18-24c. Does this sound right? Is 1050 in the ballpark for the SG with fermentables used? Seems a bit cloudy as well after the krausen collapsed over a few hours suring day 3, will be leaving in the FV till Saturday to help clear. I boiled the hops in water, was that right or was it meant to be in the LDM? Not overly concerned, looks, tastes and smells good. Will be leaving it longer in the bottle before 1st taste due to the high amount of fermentables used and to allow the flavours more time to melt together. Cheers, Martyn. Martyn
Cheers Paul, off to Wilpena Pound tomorrow with the oldies. Will be bottling on my return later in the week. Ta-ta. Martyn. P.S. Looks like its going to be around 6% ABV, is that the intended level?
