Mainiac
Just put up my first batch of wine. It is a Pinot noir winexpert vintner's reserve. Seems pretty simple but takes 9 weeks to bottle and another6 months minimum to age. winexpert
ArthurW2
Agreed although at those times you could make a few batches of lager each to their own though good job mate hope turns out nice.
Canadian Eh!L
I always have a red wine in the fermenter. It is quite simple to make drinkable wine from a kit. As far as the 6 months aging goes... It depends on how much you or the wife wants a glass. I've found 1 month or less as exceptable at time. The beauty is you can drink a bottle with dinner the day you bottled it! No carbonation time.[bandit]
Mainiac
I figure I will wait another month and try another. That way once I get in rotation it wont be hard to keep out of it.

IzacF
Anybody have any advice on screw tops versus corks? all i know is that in Australia they are using screw tops on a hell of alot of wines these days so it cant be too bad.
Mainiac
I have checked on other forums too and it seems there are 2 problems 1 the caps that come on the bottles are not reusable 2 You can not buy caps that will fit wine bottles I would much rather use twist caps since they are easier to open but it looks like I will be a cork cocker
