Jimmy78
Ok so my Ginger beer is reading 1.000 on the Hydrometer. This is after 2 1/2 weeks in the FV. My questions is, can a brew ferment below 1.000? The reading has been stable for 2 days but it fermented so slowly that I don't know whether it may still be brewing... Guest
My questions is' date=' can a brew ferment below 1.000? [/quote'] Yes it can. If you are getting a stable gravity reading over 2+ days then it should be ok to bottle.
LordEoin
Yeah, the alcohol solution makes the water less dense. As Bill said, it should be fine to bottle if the SG readings are stable. But if you're unsure, give it a couple more days and take another reading [happy]
Rosie B
Hi, Funny I have just taken the SG on my Ginger Beer that was really slow to start. Started on 11th and it stopped bubbling last night (23rd).12 days in FV. Unfortunately did not take SG at the start as this was my first ever brew and I hadn't worked out the process properly. [innocent] On 15th the SG was 1028. Just took my first final reading and it is reading just under 1000. Looks like about 9996 or 9998. What I took out from the tap is really really foamy. It that how it should be?
