English Bitter

My idea is to use 1kg of Muntons Dark spray malt (I'm in England)with the Coopers English Bitter. I'm hoping this will offset the bitterness and produce a smooth brew. Is this a good idea?

Yep, have at it soldier, much better than a standard "brew enhancer"

 

also consider a goodly dose of dry hopping with some english hops, maybe a combo of EKG and Fuggles (Not too much though, .5g p/l of each perhaps)

I've never done dry hopping. I enjoyed the Australian Pale Ale and tend to like beers that aren't actually very bitter. So, the idea is to really offset the bitterness that's in the kit by using the Dark malt.

No, dry hopping will not impart any bitterness in your brew, only aroma. Give it a go!

This is probably a silly question, but if you don't like bitter beer why brew a bitter? There are loads of other styles to play with [wink]
