That is pretty cool. However, I don't understand why there is a direct connection between lagers and Altbier. As far as I know, Altbier is brewed with ale yeast. That's why they call it alt ('old'), because before lager yeast was introduced and it took Germany by storm, all beers were brewed with ale yeast.

I suppose if you took the line away from the glass to lager, then it would have to work as ale>german ale>altbier>lager.

But i doubt it's meant to be historical and just shows the connection.

Anyway, i doubt albier was called altbier until lager took over, it was probably just bier.
