Jarvo_325
How to use hops for Flavour late in the boil?? I heard if you want flavour and aroma from hops you add them late in the boil. I have only ever dry hopped but I want to try and do a boil this time. I have read heaps of info about it but I\u2019m still not 100% sure. Can someone tell me how they would boil Cascade and Willamette hops for flavour and aroma please.

Guest
You don't have to do all the steps, these are the most common times and what I use. You may choose 20 10 and 0 mins, personally I do all of them but I'm mad for hops[lol] At 0 min, put the lid on and leave for 5 mins then strain into fv, be warned, the strainer will block pretty quick, I have a pot of boiling water at the ready to rinse the sieve out and then pour again. Mmmmmmm hops[love]

Guest
A kettle works just as well too, Coopers doesn't want me, I'd cost them too much in hops [lol]
Guest
HERE is a chart that gives you a general idea of what boiling times will do to the hop character.
