scottb12
Hi everyone Has anyone made a lager using green bullet hops? One of my favourite beers is Steinlager which is made with these hops. Cheers Scott
brada7
Hey Scott, Can't say i have and i'm not doubting that they do (use them), but for some reason I thought they used Super Alpha, or am I thinking of some other Kiwi beer?
jasond4
I have used Green Bullets plenty of times just to get that Steinlager taste....well the hop taste anyway. I find useing them as a finnishing hop (15-20gms)with the Euro Lager kit and BE2 or better fermented at 15C or below makes for a good style like the Steinlager. I like the hop and have had good/great results trying it in other Coopers kits, and also with dry hopping I,ve had good results.[happy]
brada7
I stand sorta corrected. I have googled some home brew recipes for Steinlager and both types (green bullet and super alpha) get a mention. The Steinlager website itself doesnt give much away. Whatever you can get your hands on or maybe a combination of both. It is a good easy drinker for hop lovers I must admit, without the heaviness of some IPA's[biggrin]
scottb12
Thanks for the replies guys. I like the european lager kit so I'll do a bit of experimenting with it and let you know how I get on.
