RupertP
Hi, I am on my second brew now and in between have moved house,My first brew was great and I have decided to do a stout now. In my new house my boiler cupboard is not as warm as my last and the temp on my brew started out well for the first few days, starting at about 27 and slowley dropping to about 16 after 5 days and has been about there for the last 3 days, my readings are the same for the past few days but I am concerned the yeasy could have gone dormant as the temp dropped. Am I good to bottle? It tastes good! If my cupboard temp stays about 16 will secondry fermentation take place? Alot of questions I know but I am still learning. Thanks, Rupert
Muddy Waters
Hi Rupert - Need a bit more info. What recipe are you using and what yeast? Also, what is your gravity reading now? [biggrin]
RupertP
Hi MW, I am using Coopers Stout and the yeast that comes with it, Just the bog standard stuff I got from my local brewshop. My gravity reading this morning is 1.05, I am not sure how the relative gravity readings relate to the beer, last batch I just waited till it was the same for 2 days running and then bottled. Thanks again, Rupert.
Muddy Waters
I think you are misreading your gravity? Do you mean 1015? As for Coopers Stout I still don't know what you added to it...still need more details....fermentable,yeast,final volume, brewing temp. The more details we have the we can help [cool]
