AlexS6 Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 I want to brew today, but I will be out of town next week. If the gravity is the same for more the 24 hours during the ferment cycle will it hurt anything? Let's say 1 week?
Muddy Waters Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 No it wont hurt it at all Alex - It'll most probably help your beer. A good rule of thumb when brewing is to leave your beer in the fermentor for 2 weeks. The first week allows for fermentation and the second week allows the yeast to clear up any off flavours and for the beer to clear. Lagers may need even longer.
