Biermoasta
I'm making a stout to the recipe: 1 Coopers Original Stout 1kg Coopers Light Dry Malt Made to 23 litres I have some roast barley and some crystal malt lying around which I thought could be nice to add. Has anyone got an idea of what amount I should steep to add some nice flavour to my stout?
PB2
About 100g of Roasted Barley and 300g Crystal should go okay.
BrianS2
Let us know how it turns out. As I always would like to know how much extra crystal to add to Stout or Dark Ale kit recipes.
LeonardC2
I was thinking some chocolate malt might be nice. Along with some dark LME,since, imo, the LDME would lighten it up. Unless that's what you're going for...?
PB2
Yes, choc' malt goes really nicely in stout. I have a choc porter in the FV at the moment: 4kg Pale Malt 1kg Choc Malt 30g Magnum pellets 45mins to 23 litres White Labs British Ale yeast Simple but delicious [biggrin]
