lagering an ale

I'm running out of bottles (finally). so i decided to try lagering a mild ale. i divided the batch into 2 half sized carboys. i filled the carboy to the neck, fit the air lock and put it in the cold room (temp. 6C). then i bottled the other half.

now what? just let it sit there for a few months? what's the difference between the beer sitting in carboy or a bottle at the same temp.?

You can expect yeast to fall out of suspension and the beer will have no fizz. Attempting to bottle and secondary ferment it may be a bit "hit and miss" so you may need to force carbonate. You could try blending it with a freshly brewed batch then bottle. Have a smell and a taste first to make sure it is sound.
