Tricky
Coopers have been buying their bottles from Owens-Illinois for a long time. (Owens-Illinois are the US company that bought ACI Glass in 1998.) However, some changes at Amcor Glass have meant that Coopers have now been able to secure a competitive contract. The new bottle plant is based close by, in Gawler, SA. Tim Cooper has said that the Amcor contract allowed for bottles to be supplied on a 'just-in-time' basis, rolling directly from the delivery truck to the bottling line without need for storage on site. There has been no word on whether the new contract will also bring about a change in bottle design. http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/business/amcor-glass-coopers-ink-supply-deal-for-bottles/story-e6frede3-1225916032997

housecat
I have noticed a difference, it seems the new bottles are about 5mm taller! Yes I reuse the screw tops (they sit different in my bottle capper) and in MY experience I haven't had one break (dropping them doesn't count!)
