Stewie Rivers
Hi all. I am putting an original lager plus light liquid malt extract and corn syrup into thhe fv soon. I have 24gms of hersbrucker hops and was going to dry hop the brew. Is 24gm too much to use?
PB2
Depends, somewhat, on personal preference. Get a pellet and crush it up in your hands then take a big sniff of it - if you like the aroma you should be fine to use all 24g. Trusty1
I see Paul is in this thread ATM, so he'll have the right answer, but I just put down a similar brew on the weekend, I had 20gms boiled for 20 minutes then around the same amount for the same time at flame out and then into the FV, smells great. I love Hahn Premium and am trying to emulate it, is that the beer you were looking for? But I don't know if 24gms is too much for dry hopping...Sorry
Stewie Rivers
Thanks Paul. I like a good hop aroma so think I will use the lot.

johng12
Dry hopping may not achieve the desired results depending on whether you dry hop from the start or maybe day 3. Try a boil of 5 mins with these hops and drop them in from the start and continue with the day 3 dry hop. The beer you are talking about has quite an aroma, so may need to take both approaches to get near it. To be honest id dry hop the 24 gms and boil about 12gms. Good Luck
