NathanG
Hi folks I'm nearly done with brewing my first ever batch, which is the Mexican cerveza. It hasn't bubbled for a day now and has an SG of 1010, I'm happy with it, it smells pretty good but I'm not overly sure what the colour of the liquid is supposed to look like...its very pale and pretty cloudy... Is that how its supposed to look?? Will the colour darken so it at least looks like beer rather than apple juice when its in the bottles.... I'm not overly worried, just wondering how its supposed to look.. Thanks in advance!!
Muddy Waters
Hi Nathan - How long has it been fermenting? It sounds like it is about done. Take another reading in a day or 2 and see if it is still 1010. If it is it is ready for bottling - having said that it is good to leave it in the fermentor for a few extra days to let it clear a bit. As for the colour, the cerveza is based on a Corona style which is very lightly coloured so it sounds like the coulour is fine.
