MarkS28
I ordered a Heritage Lager kit in the middle of summer here in the US. I am close to brewing since the temp's. have finally dropped to lower temp's. more ideal for brewing Heritage Lager. Little concerned the yeast I have has been exposed to too much heat and would like to replace it before brewing. One of the posts mension Ac+L yeast packet is sent with the Heritage Lager kit. How can I go about ordering a replacement?
PB2
We recommend keeping the yeast in the fridge. The Thomas Cooper yeast sachets are not sold separately. You could check the health of the yeast by starting it in 1 litre of water mixed with 100g of light dry malt. If it gets going over the course of 1 to 2 days, you can then make up the the Heritage Lager beer kit and pitch the 1 litre mini-brew. The other option might be to buy a dry lager yeast or liquid culture, such as White Labs yeast.
