ChrisM8
G'day! I was down at the LHBS last week & just out of curiosity I asked them about using oak chips in beer...just an odd, random thought I had...could be nice?[ninja] has anyone tried this? any recipe suggestions? the folks at the LHBS wondered if they needed sterilising before going in beer, as they'd only used it in spirits & the high alcohol content would kill any nasties... waddya reckon? brianc6
as far as recipes mate you'd prob have to wait for a couple of brewers that have done more then me but in ref to the sterilizing point they say on a recipe i have in front of me to boil them for 1 minute if you want to check the recipe out check out this data base mate they may have some more or try searching in the recipe data base here :) http://beerrecipes.org/showrecipe.php?recipeid=

PB2
Not a bad idea to drop them in water just at the boil for a minute.
